Great moment at Esther Short Park, Vancouver, Washington.

Do you remember those bigger-than-life moments when you imagine something bigger than yourself? I had one of those moments when I was very young and visited Esther Short Park and saw the Pioneer Mother Memorial. A sculpture representing pioneer mothers who settled in the Pacific Northwest.

I saw myself as a great pioneer woman on a journey after that moment.  I was on a journey learning how to create my life my way.
This painting of the trees in the park was a painting I created one beautiful summer day as I set up my Plein-air easel and took in the people’s history, beauty, and laughter in the park.
